Mr. Peter DuBois, of Melrose and Reading, passed away surrounded by his family in Melrose on December 31, 2011, at age 64.

Peter was born on October 9, 1947, in Lynn, one of four children of the late Victor and Mildred (Bonning) DuBois. Raised in Melrose, he graduated with the Class of 1967 from Melrose High School. He worked at Bonnell Ford in Winchester for 27 years in the shipping and receiving department.

Peter's favorite activity was fishing. Every year of his life, he spent much of the summer in Hill, New Hampshire where his family had a home. Peter loved the area and especially cherished the fly fishing along Smith River. He was a passionate Bruins and Red Sox fan, and loved square dancing. He was also a Scout Master in Melrose for the Boy Scouts, #610 for many years and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was the devoted father of Kathleen M. "Kathy" MacDonald and her husband Matt of Reading. Also survived by Margaret R. "Marty" (Ashley) DuBois of Reading. Dear brother of Mildred Migliero of Revere, and the late Victor "Al" DuBois and Richard DuBois. Cherished grandfather of Jamie M. MacDonald of Reading. Also survived by Christine A. Gale of Melrose, many nieces and nephews, beloved extended family members and friends, and his favorite dog, Daisy.

Relatives and friends will honor and remember Peter's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, January 4 from 4-8 PM and again on Thursday morning at 8:00 AM before leaving in procession to St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM.
